In service since 1968

Membership in the UNSSCA is open to all individual staff members of the United Nations family Organizations operating in Ethiopia who are on the payroll of their respective organizations and retirees from these organizations who are members of the Association of Former International Civil Servants (AFICS). Currently the predicating UN Organizations and specialized agencies are UNECA, UNDP, UNHCR, UNICEF, ILO, FAO, UNESCO, UNESCO-IICBA, WHO, IOM and World Bank.

A one-time, non-refundable membership fee of Birr 50.00 or USD 25.00 is payable by a General Service Staff Member or by a Professional Staff Member respectively upon filling out the application forms for membership (Forms-1, 2, and 3) designed for this purpose and enrolling to the UNSSCA membership.

 

MEMBERS’ PRIVILEGES

· Maintain and Operate a Savings Account with the Association.

· Borrowing money from the Association.

· Withdrawal of funds in different forms such as by cheque, electronic transfer, etc.

· Electing officials to leadership posts and being elected to leadership posts.

· Attending and participating in different meetings such as the meeting of the General Assembly of members and voting on issues discussed     (one member - one vote).

MEMBERS' OBLIGATIONS

· Paying membership dues (one-time).

· Saving regularly with the Association.

· Abiding by the Rules of Operations and Regulations of the Association.

· Attending meetings of the General Assembly; and,

· Securing clearance slips from the Association prior to separating from the services of the employing Agencies.
